Account and Login

How do I create an account?

To create an account, access the signup page by clicking on the profile icon in the top right corner. Fill in your name, email address, and secure password. You'll need to verify your email to login successfully.

I didn't receive my verification email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, you can request a new verification email by logging in and following the on-screen instructions.

How do I reset my password?

Visit the login page and click “Forgot Password?” to receive a reset link via email.

Can I change my email address?

At this time, updating your email address is not supported. If you need to use a different email, we recommend creating a new account.

How do I change my password?

You can update your password by logging into your account and visiting the Account Settings page.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, you can delete your account from your account settings page.

Reviews and Photos

How do I leave a review for a bar?

Navigate to the bar's profile page and click the “Write a Review” button. You can rate the bar, select up to three categories, write a short review, and optionally upload up to five photos. If you prefer, you can also upload photos without writing a review by using the “Upload Photos” button.

What are the guidelines for submitting a review?

Reviews must reflect your own personal experiences and should be respectful, honest, and free of offensive or promotional content. For more details, refer to our Site Guidelines.

Can I upload photos with my review?

Yes, you can include up to five original photos that accurately represent the bar. Please avoid submitting blurry, misleading, or inappropriate images.

Why was my review or photo removed?

We may remove content that violates our Site Guidelines or Terms and Conditions, such as spam, offensive material, or misleading information. If you believe content was removed in error, feel free to contact us.

Bar Listings or Requests

A bar I visited isn't listed — can I suggest it?

Yes! On any campus page, click the “Add a Bar” button. A modal will appear asking for the bar's name (required) and address (optional). Once submitted, our team will review the request.

How do you decide which bars get added?

We review submissions to ensure they refer to real establishments relevant to the campus. Bars that are duplicates, inaccurate, or not appropriate may be declined.

How long does it take for a suggested bar to appear?

Most valid requests are reviewed within a few business days. If approved, the bar will be added to the corresponding campus listing.

Can I request edits to an existing bar's info?

We don't currently support direct user edits to bar details, but you can contact us via our contact form or at contact@ratethatbar.com with corrections.

Moderation and Reporting

How is content moderated?

To maintain the integrity of the platform, reviews and photos may be reviewed by our team. We reserve the right to remove content that violates our Site Guidelines or Terms and Conditions.

Can I report inappropriate content or users?

Yes. If you see content that violates our policies or believe someone is misusing the platform, please let us know. You can report issues through our contact form or by emailing us at contact@ratethatbar.com.

What happens after I report something?

Our team will review your report as quickly as possible. If we find a violation, we may take actions such as removing the content, issuing a warning, or suspending the account involved.
